Juke'n Jam Band
New Year's Eve party
A week and a half into December I was asked to join a couple of other musicians back a mutual friend at a New Year's Eve party. Imagine! I'm an amateur Blues and Classic Rock bass player and the guy we're going to back is a Bluegrass, Folk and Country kinda guy. Well, we pulled it off, learning ~20 new songs well enough to pass (along with a few standards I actually did know).
Here's a snippet of one of the tunes we really nailed. Enjoy!

What can make you dance?
Are there classic Rock songs that make you tap your foot, sway in your seat, get up and move or sing at the top of your lungs? If so, I'd really like to know what they are. One of the groups I play with is looking to expand the set list. We'd really love to get some more tunes that move the bodies to the dance floor!
So here's your chance to have some input. Tell us the tunes that you just can't, no matter how hard you try, you just can't resist!

Blues jammin'
Every Thursday night at 3rd Street Bar in downtown Reno, they host an open Blues jam. I've invited a Jim and Deborah to join me tomorrow night. Hopefully they'll be able to record some of my set for a first music posting here and on My Space and/or Facebook. I'm hoping that the kid that drummed for us is there again. He was new and did a good job, so I'd like to encourage him to come and play more often.
Stay tuned!

Good luck, Kevin! You'll be missed.
